Overview
WriteKorean ("the Platform", "we", "us") is a practical Korean learning platform designed to help learners build real confidence through writing, typing, repetition, and clear explanation.
Our focus is not broad academic coverage such as Korean history or cultural theory. Instead, we aim to help users use Korean more naturally in everyday situations — for example, ordering drinks, navigating travel situations, understanding everyday expressions, and building confidence with real-world Korean.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle it.
What we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Platform and whether you create an account.
If you use the Platform without an account
- Browser-stored data: Some preferences or learning-related state may be stored locally in your browser to support core site functionality and improve the learning experience.
- Basic technical data: Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and request logs for security, reliability, and performance purposes.
- Advertising-related data: If advertisements are shown, third-party advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies and applicable law.
If you create an account
- Account information: Your email address and authentication details are processed through our authentication provider so you can sign in securely.
- Profile information: We may store information such as your username, account role, preferences, and other basic profile settings linked to your account.
- Learning activity and progress: As the Platform evolves, we may store learning-related information such as completed practice, quiz activity, challenge participation, level progression, and other account-based progress features so users can track improvement over time and continue across devices.
- User-submitted content: If we introduce optional interactive features in the future — such as challenge participation, transcript-based reviews, or other learning submissions — any content you choose to submit may be stored and processed to provide those features.
How we use your data
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
- To authenticate users and manage accounts securely
- To save preferences and support a smoother learning experience
- To develop and improve current and future features such as dynamic practice, quizzes, challenges, and progress tracking
- To help users build confidence in practical Korean through structured and evolving learning content
- To monitor site performance, reliability, and security
- To display advertisements through approved advertising partners
We do not sell your personal information.
How the Platform works
Some parts of WriteKorean are designed to remain relatively stable, such as learning fundamentals for consonants, vowels, and core examples. Other parts of the Platform are intended to change more frequently, including practice content and future interactive features.
This means the Platform may continue to expand over time with features such as dynamic practice sessions, levels, practical challenges, transcript-based learning from media content, and other progress-focused experiences. When those features are introduced, the data associated with them may also be collected and stored where necessary to make them work properly.
